Weather: Sunny mornings with afternoon showers, which can be heavy in October and November. Rain rarely lasts all day, and we plan the route around it.

Good to know

Our biggest discount. The south-west gets the monsoon, but the east coast, north and Cultural Triangle are dry.

Weather: Rain on the west and south coasts and the western hills, often in short bursts. The east coast (Trincomalee, Pasikudah, Arugam Bay), Jaffna and the Cultural Triangle are dry and hot.

  • Arugam Bay surf season and calm seas at Trincomalee and Pasikudah
  • The elephant "Gathering" at Minneriya and Kaudulla (peaks August–September)
